To read the measuring devices is used the so-called Edge device (industrial computer) from the concept of Industry 4.0, and to it are connected through various communication protocols measuring devices.

Node-Red can be installed and configured on both Edge-device and on-premises/remote server.
 

 

For the visualization of industrial data in real time we demonstrate the visualization platform Node-Red, which is flexible and convenient for the creation of:
-Graphical dependencies.
-Stepped diagrams.
-Digital measuring instruments and other means for visualization and data retention.
The platform is open source. It can be upgraded with both ready-made and hand-crafted functional modules.

Data visualization with time view option

To build this option we use the software tool for visualizations Grafana. As before, we have installed the relational Influxdb database on our machine. To connect the data to the database, we use an additional plug-in to the Node-Red platform, which must also be configured. For server and machine on which to install Node-Red and Grafana is used Raspberry Pi single-board computer, using an SSD disk connected via an adapter cable to one of the USB ports of the single-board computer instead of the standard SD card disk space configuration.

After installing the operating system on SD card and copy to the SSD (more information how to make it here).

Next step is to install database Influxdb and then create new database, see picture below.

After login in influxdb database create new database see the command on picture bellow.

To install Node-Red on your Raspberry Pi  click here. Next step is in Node-Red flow. After add a pallete Influxdb in library with tools, it needs to be configured for connection with database and new topic which will be write in it.

Next step is to open Grafana and add a Data source ( the database that is created early). Then add a new dashboard and connect the database into new dashboard. More info how to make this in Documentation of Grafana. This step is repeat for all different measurements. After add the database to dashboard your basic visualisation is ready. You can see our below.
